The Melting Clock: Our New Favorite Late-Night Dining Spot In Ekamai

Hello everyone, BangkokHaps is back! Today, we invite you to taste authentic Italian food with a twist and enjoy excellent wines at The Melting Clock Gastro Bar located in Soi Sukhumvit 61. The easiest way to get there is by BTS. Just get off at Ekkamai and walk a little.

As you enter, it will take your eyes a short while to adjust to the shadowy interior. The leather sofas and large paintings give it a classic feel – look for Picasso! The interior with its low, timbered ceiling is cozy and split into several zones, with one housing a fireplace with logs burning brightly (but not real ones!). There are some interesting decorations including scooters and typewriters as well as an old-fashioned football game if you need some exercise. The bar runs along most of one side and has a good range of wine,  scotch, and many other liqueurs. 

สวัสดีครับ BangkokHaps กลับมาแล้ว!  วันนี้เราจะพาคุณไปลิ้มรสอาหารอิตาเลี่ยนและเพลิดเพลินไปกับไวน์ชั้นดีที่ Melting Clock Gastro Bar ในซอยสุขุมวิท 61 วิธีเดินทางง่ายๆโดยรถไฟฟ้า BTS ไปยังเอกมัย จากนั้นเดินไปไม่ไกลก็จะถึงซอยด้านขวามือ

มาถึงร้านที่ตกแต่งภายสไตล์คลาสสิกประกอบด้วยโซฟาหนังและภาพวาดขนาดใหญ่ แนวปิกัสโซ  การตกแต่งเพดานต่ำด้วยไม้ให้ความรู้สึกอบอุ่นและแบ่งออกเป็นหลายโซนอาทิ โซนเตาผิงที่ดูเสมือนจริง การตกแต่งที่ใช้สกูตเตอร์และเครื่องพิมพ์ดีดและตู้เกมฟุตบอลมือของเก่าสมัยก่อน มีบาร์ยาวริมผนังด้านหนึ่ง เครื่องดื่มที่เตรียมไว้ต้อนรับคุณหลากหลาย มีทั้งเหล้าสก็อต  เครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย

So, the moment everyone is waiting for is the arrival of the Italian delights. We have 4 dishes to recommend today. First, is the “Rigatoni with Nudja” which has a spicy melting Italian sausage – very tasty, with a spicy chili paste in an Italian sauce with chopped basil. The combination of the smell and taste was memorable. 

ช่วงเวลาที่ทุกคนกำลังรอคอยคือการมาถึงของอาหารอิตาเลียน  วันนี้เราขอแนะนำ 4  เมนู เมนูแรกคือ“ Rigatoni with Nudja” เป็นไส้กรอกอิตาเลียนรสเผ็ดพอดี ด้วยซอสอิตาเลี่ยนกับโหระพาสับ  การผสมผสานของกลิ่นและรสชาติคืออร่อยมาก

Our second choice was “Carpaccio GreenEye” – a beef carpaccio with rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes and fried artichokes. The taste was good with a salty soft finish - a recommended dish. The artichoke was pleasantly soft and almost tofu-like. The rocket was bitter and well textured.

ตัวเลือกที่สองของเราคือ“ Carpaccio GreenEye”  คาร์ปาชโชเนื้อกับมะเขือเทศเชอร์รี่และอาร์ติโช้คทอด นุ่มและเค็มพอดี ร้อกเก็ตอร่อยและเข้ากันดีมาก  

The next dish was crispy enoki mushrooms – deep fried Japanese mushrooms served with a Thai sauce. The golden needle mushrooms were crispy and salty with a great tasting green sauce – a bit spicy but no garlic smell. So, if you don’t like garlic, this one is for you.

จานแนะนำ จานต่อไปคือเห็ด Enoki กรอบ เห็ดญี่ปุ่นทอดเสิร์ฟพร้อมซอสไทย  เห็ดเข็มทองกรอบเค็มกับซอสเขียวรสชาติเยี่ยม  เผ็ดเล็กน้อย แต่ไม่มีกลิ่นกระเทียม  ดังนั้นหากคุณไม่ชอบกระเทียมเมนูนี้เหมาะสำหรับคุณ 

The final menu item was a special “Porchetta” – pork belly enhanced with a heart of pate and an outer rim of crispy “moo krob ” and complemented with an apple sauce taken to the next level with dill and shallots. A great combination!

เมนูสุดท้ายคือเมนูพิเศษ“ Porchetta”  หมูสามชั้นที่ปรุงด้วยตับบดและหุ้มรอบด้วยหมูกรอบ เติมด้วยแอปเปิ้ลซอส ผักชีฝรั่งและหอมแดง  เป็นการผสมผสานที่เยี่ยมมาก

While we were eating, the band was playing – there is a range of bands starting at 8:00 pm every night, including Sundays. The day we went, the band was “Smooth Boss and Crew” who had performed in “The Voice Thailand”. The acoustics were excellent, and the relaxed volume meant you could talk and also listen and enjoy. So, overall what did we think? This is a place that has something for everyone. What can be better than listening to live jazz music and enjoying great Italian food? Visit the Melting Clock and Gastro Bar, everyone. Just give it a try and you’ll be back again for sure!
